Improvements of Infrastructure Facilities to Overcome the Flood & Drought in Thrissur - Ponnani Kole Lands for Increasing Paddy Production

The padasekharams & residents in the Thrissur Ponnani Kole area faces threats due to rsing water levels during rainy season. The clogged canals and insufficient dewatering systems has been addressed in the project. The traditional petty and para system has to be replaced by submersible pumps or vertical axis pumps. By the completion of the project the entire kole area will become a model paddy cultivation area of the State. It is expected that paddy prduction can be raised considerably from this area by this project
